Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, place, or other detail into a search box operated by an outside provider, the query is sent to that provider for processing. The provider’s policy governs what happens next. Santa Fe County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or use a contact form, we keep the message and contact details needed to read and answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Like most sites, server, analytics, and advertising systems can receive basic technical details when a page loads. Those details help show whether pages work and how the site is used.
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring page or site, when supplied
- The date and time of the request
Cookies and Browser Choices
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand visits, remember basic preferences, measure traffic, or support advertising. A browser can reject or delete cookies. Some features may work differently when cookies are blocked.
Reasons We Use Information
Collected data is used only for ordinary site operations, service routing, measurement, and protection.
- Keep pages available and improve load performance
- Send a submitted search to the selected partner service
- Understand which Santa Fe County topics readers use
- Detect faults, abuse, and other technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests
Government and Outside Links
The site links to Santa Fe County Corrections, NMCD, courts, federal locators, release-record sources, and third-party search tools. New Mexico government access to public records is governed by the Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978 §§ 14-2-1 through 14-2-12, but that law does not replace each linked site’s own privacy statement. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination controls its collection and use of data.
Advertising services may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs within those providers’ systems and is governed by their policies.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed or transmitted when the site function requires it or when the law compels it.
- Search partners that process a query submitted to their tool
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and use
- Advertising networks that serve or measure advertisements
- Law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order
How Data Is Safeguarded
Reasonable technical and administrative practices are used to protect information under our control. No website, network, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that data will never be accessed, lost, or disclosed without authorization.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request its deletion.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, a person may make the following requests about personal information held directly by this site:
- Ask for a copy of personal data we retain
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask that eligible personal information be erased
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where that choice applies
These requests do not reach records held by Santa Fe County, NMCD, a court, a search partner, or another third party. Requests concerning those systems must go to the organization that controls the data.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as site practices, services, or legal duties change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date when applicable. Continued use after publication means the revised practices apply.
